Hot Jazz Live on Saturday Night

Rob Bamberger's Saturday night music program Hot Jazz Saturday Night is broadcast 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. on radio station WAMU at 88.5 on the FM radio dial. He plays swing, hot jazz from the 1920s and '30s, and related popular music from the dawn of recordings to the present. It is important to him that he present the show live, which I think lends it a special companionable quality (and gives you the weather report when you're dining at home and getting dolled up to go out dancing.) This month's WAMU program guide features a really nice writeup on Rob, so I'll be bringing some copies of it to the dances.

Many dancers have told me that they love to listen on the way to Glen Echo, or if they don't get out to a Saturday night dance. Other people have engineered ways to record the entire three hours and listen to them later. At any rate, give it a listen if you love the music we dance to, and please also let the station know if you appreciate the show. It would mean a lot to me, even if he WOULD be out dancing with me Saturday nights otherwise!
