Tom and Debra have swing dancing after their classes at Chevy Chase Ballroom (CCB). CCB dancing is at 5207 Wisconsin Avenue NW in DC. This is at the corner of Wisconsin and Harrison, just south of Friendship Circle. Very metro convenient, large parking lot in back. Plenty of places to eat: Cheesecake Factory, Clydes, Maggianos, Booeymongers. An elegant civilized neighborhood

MONDAY NIGHTS SWING IN CANTON -- that is, Canton the historic Baltimore neighborhood near Fells Point -- every Monday, Sommer and Dorry will be hosting a swing party at the Austin Grill 2400 Boston Street, Baltimore, 410-534-0606. They will have beginner lessons from 8-9 and open dancing from 9-11. $5 for dancing (free for students), $10 for dancing and lessons ($5 for students).

May 31 and June 1: Former World Lindy Hop Champions Kenneth & Helena Norbelie will be in town to teach 2 days of workshops. These 2 are not only wonderful dancers, they are great teachers who really know how to take difficult material or complex concepts and make them accessible. The classes will take place at the NW Sport n Health Club which is at 4001 Brandywine St NW, Washington DC. This is 2 blocks north of the Tenleytown Metro and 4 blocks south of Chevy Chase Ballroom. June 14: In celebration of the YMCA of Frederick County’s 150th Anniversary, the organization will host an exciting and elegant black-tie gala at Hood College from 6:00pm-1:00am. The gala will feature a cocktail hour and seated surf-n-turf dinner. The highlight of the evening will be entertainment provided by Doc Scantlin and His Imperial Palms Orchestra.
