The Four Tenors
Tom and Debra have produced an extremely popular "Battle" series which has included Battles of the Big Bands (George Gee vs Tom Cunningham, Bill Eliott vs Tom Cunningham), Battles of Vibraphonists (Chuck Redd v John Coccuzzi) Battles of Boogie Woogie Pianists (Tim Ford v John Coccuzzi), and Battles of Drummers. Tonight, they branched out to answer the question, "What would a jump blues outfit sound like with four tenor saxophones?" Alas, two feet of snow left one of the Tenors stranded in Atlanta. However, nearly 100 people braved the blowing snow and ice to come to Clarendon to hear Don Lerman, Chris Watling and Bruce Swaim give three quarters of the answer. In short, such a band would be STUPENDOUS! We look forward to the fairweather re-uniting of the Four tenors.
